Why Agápē?

I want to learn about what Agápē truly means.

The word itself is defined as this:
unselfish love of one person for another; brotherly love; love without limits or requirements; unconditional   love; etc.

What intrigues me is that Agápē  [ah-gah-pey] & Agape [uh-geyp] are spelled the same. But while one derives from the Greek word love, the other means “with the mouth wide open, as in wonder, surprise, or eagerness”.

What if the meaning of these two words could act as one? What if we could learn to love one another so completely unconditionally, & with a love so wide open, that all we can do is stand in wonder & surprise at  the things that love has accomplished, eager to see what is store for us next.
